Patrick Snodgrass – Director

Patrick has been immersed in the dairy industry his entire life, growing up on his family’s farm before earning a BSc in Agriculture from Newcastle University. His career began with Bibby Agriculture, followed by an international role with Frank Wright, exporting minerals worldwide. He later served as Technical Director of a Ukrainian company importing livestock minerals.

In 2011, Patrick returned to Shropshire to manage the Border Farmers and Maryvale Farmers buying groups. Today, he works closely with dairy farmers, providing expert nutrition and business consultancy to help achieve the best cow performance at the lowest feed cost.

Always looking ahead, Patrick has a passion for innovative farm projects and diversification, from robotic milking systems and poultry units to biomass, holiday lets, and more. He also stays up-to-date with funding opportunities to support these ventures, making him a trusted adviser and one of the region’s leading poultry farm consultants.

Helen Snodgrass – Director

Helen specialises in environmental consultancy for farms, working directly with farmers to assess practices, identify risks, and develop sustainable solutions. She conducts detailed Farm Infrastructure Audits, focusing on water management, storage, and separation of clean and dirty water to reduce leaching and improve efficiency.

Helen also creates tailored Biodiversity, Soil, and Water Management Reports that meet the environmental standards required by many dairy contracts.

She manages environmental management applications and claims for SFI and SFS, capital applications and claims and holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Ecological Applications from Harper Adams University.

Iain Campbell – Business Manager

Iain studied Agricultural Science at the University of Melbourne, gaining a Bachelor of Science before working across large-scale beef, sheep, and arable enterprises throughout Victoria and Tasmania. After moving to the UK, he broadened his expertise into dairy and poultry consultancy, combining practical experience with data-driven insight to support efficient, profitable farming.

At SFE, Iain works alongside Patrick and Helen across all areas of the business, with a particular focus on data analysis, R&D reporting, grant funding, and environmental scheme support. His approach is practical, rational, and farmer-focused, harnessing on-farm data to achieve meaningful improvements in performance and margins while recognising the realities of day-to-day farming.

Always looking to the future, Iain continues to expand his knowledge in large language models (LLMs), AI, and predictive analytics to ensure SFE remains at the up to date with technology to best benefit their clients and British agriculture.

Jeanette Lynn – Finance Manager

Jeanette keeps everything running smoothly at the buying groups. With many years of experience managing accounts for SMEs, she ensures accuracy and efficiency in all financial matters.

She is also the friendly first point of contact for members, always ready to assist—whether it’s fuel and fertiliser quotes, invoice queries, or day-to-day office support.
